Updating the television centre

In 2011, OKNO-TV brought about the modernisation of the television centre of NIKA-TV in the city of Kaluga.

Our specialists developed and proposed a comprehensive plan to modernize the facility, a new structure, workflow, and way for the technical departments of the company to interact. At the heart of the system was the multi-user system for newsroom automation, allowing collaborative work by all journalists.

The studio facility included several elements: a switching and distribution area; studios 1 and 2 with their control rooms; a production area, hardware digitization of video materials; edit suites and a newsroom, and a digital archive and store for ENG and video capture materials and equipment.

On completion, the centre was fully equipped with systems for the production, preparation and transmission to air of programs in both HD and SD.
